PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Design and curate ongoing program of exhibitions including emerging, mid-career and established artists
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with artists, clients, sponsors and government representatives
- Hire and manage installation staff and other contract entities
- Ensure high public exposure by crafting press releases and communicating with local and national media
- Oversee, design and coordinate printing and distribution of exhibition announcements, newsletters, brochures and catalogs
- Maintain current and relevant information on organization’s website and other listings in appropriate publications and websites
- Implement computer-based system to manage organization’s inventory and to maintain
accurate database of contacts generating specific lists of patrons and sponsors
- Identify supporters who have expressed interest in an artist/organization to target invitations for special previews, gallery talks, dinners, etc. for sales and fundraising
- Work directly with artists to ensure current images and biographical information are available
- Established the Side Gallery Series, a monthly showcase of regional artists at the AcA
- Presented Southern Open, a regional competitive juried exhibition, at the AcA
- Work jointly with organizational departments to ensure high quality presence in local, regional and national media outlets and in the community
- Manage art fair applications, coordinate shipping, travel, and other logistical matters
regarding art fairs, worked duration of fair including registration, installation and
de-installations
- Represent the organization in the community and liaison with other non-profit and for-profit entities in the region
